Software Architecture, an elective master’s course, was again on the timetable

Fall semester, Academic year 2020-2021: Our master’s course entitled “Principles of Software Design & Software Architecture”, or Software Architecture for short was again on the timetable of the master’s program in Computer Science at HCMC University of Technology. This elective course has been given in every other semester since it was first launched in 2015.

Exceptional high teaching quality

[Xmas 2020] Key members of the ESP-Lab again gave a master’s course on business intelligence in English. The course covers up-to-date topics of today’s business computing environment including data warehousing, OLAP, data mining, data visualization and BI dashboard. Problem-based teaching was extensively used to deliver hands-on activities in the class, which were highly appreciated by the students (on average, we got 4.3 out of 5 in our course evaluation).

Master’s course on Business Intelligence

Most popular master’s course

pring semester, Academic year 2017-2018: Our master’s course entitled “Principles of Software Design & Software Architecture” was the most popular elective course of the master’s program in computer science at HCMC University of Technology. We attracted a relatively large number of graduate students having various levels of prgramming and software expertise.

Lam-Son Lê as a visiting professor at UNITN

Dr. Lam-Son Lê spent a week at the springtime of 2017 in University of Trento (UNITN), Italia as a visiting professor under the European Erasmus+ Mobility project. He delivered speech on process re-design and services modeling to a master’s course on organizational information systems at Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science, UNITN.

STEMCON 2017 presentation on IoT Cert

Our presentation at STEMCON 2017, entitled “Towards an Undergraduate Certification Program  on IoT: Getting an Introductory Course on IoT Ready at Bach Khoa University”, pp. 21, authored by Lam-Son & Hoang-Anh Pham & Thai-Minh, was highly regarded at the conference session, followed by discussions to open the door for getting industrial partners involved in such a certification program. 

VEEC 2016 presentation on active learning

Team-Based Learning

We teach the following subjects: Intro to Software Engineering (under), eBusiness (master’s), Principles of Software Design & Architecture (master’s), Conceptual Modeling & Software Requirements (master’s). Courses are given either in English or local language. We extensively employ the active learning techniques in our classes, ranging from problem-based learning, in-class teamwork, mini projects to assignments.
